Over 10 years putting non-fault drivers back on the road
We are a Birmingham based credit hire and accident management company. When an accident was not your fault, we take the whole claim off your hands and recover the cost from the insurer that caused it.
PTH Claims has been trading for over 10 years. In that time we have recovered vehicles off motorways at three in the morning, argued with insurers who did not want to pay, and kept a lot of people working who would otherwise have lost their income.
We handle the recovery, the storage, the replacement vehicle and the claim itself. If the accident was not your fault, none of it costs you anything, because the charges are recovered from the at fault driver’s insurer rather than from you.
What we actually do
Most people meet us on the worst day of their driving year. The car is undriveable, the other driver’s insurer is already ringing, and nobody has explained what happens next.
Our job is to make that manageable. We get the vehicle recovered and stored somewhere secure, put you in a replacement vehicle that matches what you were driving, arrange an independent engineer’s inspection, and then pursue the at fault insurer for everything you are owed.
You keep driving. We do the arguing.
What is included
On a non-fault claim, all of the following is arranged at no cost to you.
Recovery, 24 hours a day
Roadside or scene recovery anywhere in the UK, day or night, including motorways and multi-storey car parks.
Secure storage
Your vehicle held at a secure site while liability and the engineer’s report are sorted out.
A like for like replacement
A vehicle that matches the one you lost. A van for a van, an automatic for an automatic, a PHV licensed car for a taxi driver.
Independent engineer
An impartial inspection to establish whether the vehicle is economically repairable and what it was worth before the accident.
Repair management
Repairs at a reputable bodyshop, managed and chased by us rather than by you.
The claim itself
We deal with the at fault insurer directly, including the ones who go quiet and hope you give up.
What we do not do
We are not solicitors, and we are straight about that.
If you have been injured, that is a separate claim and it needs a solicitor acting for you. We can put you in touch with one, and they will act on your behalf and advise you properly. We do not receive any payment in connection with personal injury claims. There is no referral fee, no commission, and no benefit to us either way.
We also do not advise on the legal merits of your case. What we do is the practical side: the vehicle, the replacement, the storage, and recovering those costs from the insurer that caused the problem.
A replacement vehicle within a few hours is worth more to most people than a long letter explaining why they cannot have one.
How a claim runs with us
Most claims follow the same shape, whether it is a car, a van or a fleet vehicle.
You call us
One phone call, usually under ten minutes. We take the registration, the date, and what happened. Nothing else is needed at that point.
The vehicle is collected
Recovery is arranged straight away and the vehicle goes into secure storage. If it is blocking a road or a car park, that happens the same day.
You get a replacement
A like for like vehicle is delivered to you, often within hours, so you are not off the road while everything else is sorted out.
We build the claim
Engineer’s report, images, repair estimates and evidence of liability go together into a claim against the at fault insurer.
It gets settled
We pursue the insurer for the hire, the storage, the recovery and the vehicle itself. You are kept updated, and you pay nothing.
Who we work with
A large part of our work comes through people who see accidents before we do. Bodyshops, recovery operators, garages, taxi offices and fleet managers refer non-fault jobs to us, and the repair work goes straight back to them.
If you run one of those businesses, our partner network page explains how that works.

Common questions
The business has been trading for over 10 years. PTH Claims Limited was incorporated as a company on 03 January 2023, company number 14558278.
Yes. We are based in Birmingham and the office is staffed from there, but recovery and replacement vehicles are arranged across England, Scotland and Wales.
On a non-fault claim, no. The recovery, storage and replacement vehicle charges are recovered from the at fault driver’s insurer. Terms and conditions apply, and the terms are explained in plain English before anything is arranged.
No. Injury claims are handled by solicitors who act on your behalf and advise you independently. We can put you in touch with one, and we receive no payment of any kind in connection with personal injury claims.
No. We are an accident management and credit hire company. We do not sell insurance and we are not your insurer. We recover the cost of your accident from the insurer of the driver who caused it.
It is still worth calling. Liability is often split rather than all one way, and a share of your costs may still be recoverable. Our guide on being partly at fault goes through it.
Terms and conditions apply to all services described on this page. Free recovery, storage and replacement vehicles are provided on the basis that the charges are recovered from the at-fault party’s insurer. We will explain the terms in plain English before anything is arranged.
Before we act for you we are required to verify your identity and to carry out fraud and anti-money laundering checks. This may include checks with credit reference and fraud prevention agencies, which will leave a record on your file.
Where fraud is suspected, information may be shared with fraud prevention agencies, insurers and law enforcement. Providing false or misleading information in support of a claim may mean your claim is refused, and can be a criminal offence.
